I guess so - it's just ill-thought-out hasty blather, but hey, publish and be damned. Though the incident that made me particularly gloomy about Heathrow wasn't due to grimness or sensationalism in the papers themselves, now I think about it. It was reading the previous day's Guardian in the cafe at lunch, reading an article in Comment & Analysis by Simon Jenkins with what I thought were excellent arguments against the new runway - not frothing at the mouth or fearmongering, just making a good case - and then glancing up at the big Sky News screen to see "Breaking News: Runway Approved".
