In this little room at the top of the building, I look out through the rain-blurred skylight at the threshing treetops and the skylights of the other buildings. It's warm, stifling, like it must be inside an egg. The computers hum in their cases. My heart hums in my chest. I wait.

not very pointful fragments

Into my third week of teaching. I have a spoken word quota for the day and five hours of constant talking uses it up. When my last student left yesterday I stared out the window of the classroom for maybe fifteen minutes, just watching the rain sliding down the roofs below, without a word in my head.

It's such a buzz when it goes well. Has something in common with the 'really good roleplaying session' buzz, and other bits in common with the DJing buzz, and in other ways it reminds me of standing at the top of a mountain in the Alps looking down a dizzy drop and knowing that once I've pushed off it will be non-stop to the bottom. And that no matter how much I've practiced, in a way I'll still be winging it.

All my ebay things sold for respectable sums. I think I may be addicted. I won an auction for a tiny little el-cheapo digital camera (so I can keep putting things up without philipstorry having to bring his camera all the way from Beckenham) and it arrived today. It's half the size of a credit card and made of plastic. Here's a quote from the instruction manual: "Through snatch the video frequency, the digital camera can take the digital video and save in the hardware for enjoyness."

Somehow I doubt it.

There was potential frost in the air this morning. I have a sense of things finally coming together.
