It does buy happiness. That's the terrible thing. No matter how unmaterialistic you are, no matter how much you shun designer labels and flashy status-symbol homewares, the fact remains that if someone handed you three thousand pounds today your life, relationships, prospects would be immeasurably better. Sad, really.

Money genuinely won't make you happier. It's just that we're so often on negative money, we've no idea what No Money is like. Our entire lives, for food, clothes and so on are one collosal debt around our necks. Without that burden, three grand wouldn't seem so much to anticipate.
