Send my sentences flying from concept to concept in graceful arcs. Flip them over in mid-air to show unsuspected angles. That's what I want to do. But I've been staring at the screen for hours and mental arthritis has set in.

(On the other hand. I have Photoshop! Photoshop! Hurrah! Well, work has it and I'm allowed to use it.)

I suggest Adobe Illustrator or CorelDraw. Or if you want to animate them too, Macromedia Flash. Now all you need is an excuse to get your employer to buy them...

I've never got on with CorelDraw. That's probably just because I know Photoshop best and it's hard to make the transition.

CorelDraw takes a very different approach to Photoshop, and even though CorelDraw has added some bitmap functions, while Photoshop has added vector functions, the two use a very different mindset. Illustrator is from the same company as Photoshop, so might be more familiar. Flash (or for static images, Fireworks) probably comes the closest to fusing bitmap and vector to the point where they're almost indistinguishable.
