Bandwagonesque

Being a collection of disjointed bits. First:

And some tickyboxes:
[Poll #609650]

I never claimed to be good at titles. I did like The End of Words, though.

And: Do you lot want to see pictures of Kyoto? Or are you sick of travelogue by now? Is it needy of me to ask? Gah, I don't know.

No no, not sick of it; more pics and travelogue.
please!

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 09:24 pm (UTC)(link)
You'll regret that. Soon you shall be groaning under the weight of thousands and thousands of words of wittering about Japan. Ha!

[identity profile] gnimmel.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 09:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Kyoto: yes please! (I've been a poor commenter on the subject of travelogue, but I've been enjoying it immensely, the more so because I've been reading the travels of Marco Polo recently and he goes to a lot of the same places, just a rather long time ago. According to Marco Polo, Japan is very, very rich and the people therein are addicted to eating human flesh)

Angels' Prey: hmmm -- sounds a bit 'airport novel'-ish, maybe. 'The End of Words' is a superb title.

Unless fatty tuna are people too, that doesn't seem to be so common these days. (Mmm, fatty tuna.)

Glad you're enjoying it. And thanks for your compliment on TEOW. I still hope to get that fixed and cleaned up and submitted elsewhere, if only because the title's too good to waste.

Travelogue excellent and fascinating!
Your audience demands more!

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks. :)

Your tektek avatar reminds me of lego, in a way that the others I’ve seen don’t. I don’t think I’ve seen any actual lego in… since before I saw you last, anyway.

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 10:05 pm (UTC)(link)
It's probably the hair, actually. It's almost Lego hair. (But it's also the most accurate style there. Agh, I have Lego hair.)

[identity profile] mooism.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmm… we need a sort of hollow bobble to sit upon your head. Just to complete the illusion ;-)

[identity profile] lilitufire.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
I want to hear what you thought of Japan, certainly!

[identity profile] miss-newham.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 11:36 pm (UTC)(link)
No offence, like! And yes, more travelogue please. And come visit London.

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-10 11:56 pm (UTC)(link)
None taken. The only thing I liked about it was that it sounded kind of mass-markety ([livejournal.com profile] gnimmel is right on the money up there), and that's a crap thing to like about it.

And will do, on both counts.

[identity profile] tackline.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 03:34 am (UTC)(link)

Do we want to see your pictures of Kyoto?

Like, duh.

[identity profile] kagomeshuko.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
I like the travologue! Most definitely!

My NaNovel has already had three different titles!

Stein Auf!
Bridget

More travelogue, lots more travelogue. That is all.

[identity profile] huskyteer.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 09:56 am (UTC)(link)
I prefer 'Angels Prey', because that works better as a pun on 'Pray'. Purely MHO.

Photos please!

Also, tektek.org is blocked by my work. I'll have to wait whole hours before I can create a cutesy avatar, and by then I'll have forgotten all about it. Woe!

[identity profile] cardinalsin.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 10:08 am (UTC)(link)
If you're looking for a pun on 'pray', 'prey for angels' might help to avoid the apostrophe o' doom.

[identity profile] verlaine.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 01:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm coming round to 'Angel Prey' myself...

*poke* Make yourself an avatar, then!

This is a reminder issued by the Insomniac and Drunk Society.

More travelogue, please.

Depending on what age you're aiming for, I wouldn't be keen on the word "angel" at all - certainly from the time I was old enough to make conscious choices about my reading, rather than devouring everything put in front of me, it would have put me off. Not sure it wouldn't, even now, to be honest...

[identity profile] verlaine.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 01:26 pm (UTC)(link)
My first pass:

But I think [livejournal.com profile] bateleur is right and you aren't going to be able to get anything like me without a vertical stretch tool :(

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-13 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
He's cool, stretch tool or no.

[identity profile] verlaine.livejournal.com 2005-11-13 04:59 am (UTC)(link)
Hey, you're up late! (My excuse is I'm just back from "Feeling Groovy", which is the BEST CLUB NIGHT EVER, like LYE if it was totally populist and as such you wanted to dance to every single song. I haven't had a workout like that in quite some time...

[identity profile] verlaine.livejournal.com 2005-11-13 07:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Hey, check out Hugh's! It's awesome:

[identity profile] kyte.livejournal.com 2005-11-11 03:51 pm (UTC)(link)
It's potentially a good title. Does it describe what you are writing well?

[identity profile] bluedevi.livejournal.com 2005-11-13 04:50 am (UTC)(link)
Pretty well, yeah. Though I think I have to rename the angels. They're an alien race, really, just revered as angels by the humans. "Guardians" would be better.

[identity profile] mr-snips.livejournal.com 2005-11-13 12:27 pm (UTC)(link)
How about "Angel Prey"?

I'm guessing that my first choice (Angels' Delight) won't fit the plot quite as well:-)
