Woo yay! and other such exclamations of delight.
Goddamn I'm exhausted now. But that was a lot of fun, even with the sore shoulders. I must have more deadlines. Deadlines are my friend.

Date: 2005-12-01 12:44 pm (UTC)I reckon it'd be very hard to do a finished, proper novel in less than a year. The only one I've finished (for some values of finished; I'm having to rewrite it now) took me about fifteen months from initial idea to printing it out and putting it in an envelope, and I wasn't working for a chunk of that.

Date: 2005-12-01 01:22 pm (UTC)My problem with my novel is that a) it's historical, so I've got a huge amount of research to do before I'll feel comfortable writing more than the odd vignette; b) it's obscure historical, so the research isn't easy; and c) the style I'm going for is going to require multiple drafts. I may not finish this thing for two years, at least.

Date: 2005-12-01 09:53 am (UTC)I should begin my The Hours project today really, out of sheer arrant perversity, but since Jo has a spare ticket for The Proclaimers I probably won't. Damn you, cheeky Scottish popsters!

Date: 2005-12-01 01:19 pm (UTC)I'd really like to get a tiny little one like Hugh's, actually, for the sole purpose of writing away from home. I have the sinking feeling that a small laptop is likely to be even more expensive than a big powerful one, though :-/
