We used to do this on the Fibbers mailing list when I was in college.

Good thing: Thank you, whoever sent the virtual flower on my infopage.

Bad thing: I just discovered Death Cab For Cutie, who I love to tiny bits, are playing the Zodiac! Right here! In Oxford! The weekend after next! But I am in sodding Ireland then. Arse, arse, arse, feck. Feck. *kicks things*

Good Things and Bad Things, anyone?

Good thing: Work’s net connection has just started working at a sensible speed, so I can get some work done.

Bad thing: Work’s net connection has just started working at a sensible speed, so I have to work.

Good thing: Got lots of lovely people coming to the pub tonight.

Bad thing: I still haven't been paid. It's not so much the having no money that bothers me, as the having to raise the energy to pester them yet again about how it's late again, when I thought I'd got it all sorted out last month. And the month before. Oh the joys of freelancing.

Oh lordy. I remember that from my brief freelancing period. I think I told you about the client who, when I asked him to pay me, said "Do you think I'm some sort of cash cow, missy?"

Good thing: Death Cab for Cutie will play the Zodiac again, they're regulars
Bad thing: But it may not be this summer as the Zod'll be closed for a major refit

Really? I have not much google-fu when trying to find out when bands are playing where, and I had the impression they hardly ever played outside the US...

Good thing: It's pancake day! What better excuse to eat dessert for dinner?!

Bad thing: Um... *stretches*...erm... the best I can come up with is having to work, when I'd rather be packing!

Good thing: I’ve been paid this month.

Bad thing: I’ve been paid about £100 less than I should have been. Do I want to hope that I’ve been shunted onto emergency tax? Will this screw up my mortgage?

Good Thing: I'm having dinner in my favorite pub tonight.

Bad Thing: I'm having dinner with the company lawyer.

Good thing: Finding out it's pancake day!
Bad thing: Will be out late, snow is forecast and I'm on the bike. These things do not mix well.

Well, I think they're great. In a very indie-boy, vaguely twee sort of way.

Good thing: I had some really splendid sandwiches for lunch. Chunky granary bread, decent ham, tasty salad stuff, just the right amount of pickle, the works.

Bad thing: Right this second, that I can't find a chuck key small enough to fit the air drill. I have to separate these lockers, because the pair are too big to go in the space so they must be split, by drilling their rivets out and that means getting a drill inside the lockers and the only one small enough is the air drill. And no-one seems to have a small chuck key.
