Lantern

Once I get a bit better at the stitching, I'm going to make Tempin' Bear notebooks.

Sounds like we need to leave you in the house on your own more often! Nice!

Have you considered taking commissions for the lanterns? :)

I totally would. In fact I might make two kinds: unique ones (decorated to your specifications, more expensive) and ones made from bits of my artwork printed on to heavy translucent paper (cheap).

I'm not going to hassle you to get one, though, because you're trying to reduce your stuff, right? :) Though the square ones are designed to fold flat until you want to hang'em.

That's really lovely.

I find crafting an excellent and reassuring thing to do, as well.

Yes! It fixes my head. I wish I hadn't let it slide for so long, as I worked worked worked and went steadily more mental.

I was impressed by the lantern and the tables, which I was incapable of saying at the time for some reason.

My your Islands is lovely. It looks like the larger one is thinking of the smaller one. as in

o o O.

You're quite right! I hadn't seen that, but yes. So glad you've finally got it.

But when, oh when will "Tempin’ Bear: Hunter (part 2 of 2)" happen?

Mounting board! Now that would have been WAY easier. ;)

This is beautiful. I'm pretty sure if you made more and etsy'd them, they'd sell.

More limited in terms of shapes, but yes :) It would seem a bit of my brain went on quietly thinking about types of lanterns after the project was over... These ones fold flat, too (though there's a mystical-lantern-like three-sided design that doesn't).

And I just might - thank you for the encouragement. It's not like I have a full-time job at the moment or anything.

Wow! How did you make it?

Cut four frames of heavy mounting board, covered them in rice paper, drew on them with translucent alcohol-based marker, punched holes in the edges (that's the bit I need to get better at - get a better hole punch and make sure all the holes line up next time), sewed them together with ribbon. I didn't make the metal frame that's poking out the top - that's my bedroom lamp without shade, just to test what it looks like lit up. The next one will actually have a metal bit to attach to a light fitting.
