I am back home in Dublin for the weekend. There is much significant stuff to talk about.

I'm going to talk about a silly thing first, though. In the Mind-Body-Spirit section of Eason's on Talbot Street, they have a display of the well-known self-help and relationship advice manual, 'The Rules of Attraction' by Bret Easton Ellis.

The village hall was always draughty and freezing, lit with flickering, cheerless neon. The uniform was thin and chilly. I hoped we would learn to light a fire or at the very least tie knots, but all we ever did was march from the hall to the church and back, usually in the rain, while I mused on how silly the word 'woggle' was.
