Magic is like radiation. It mutates you, sometimes in the womb and sometimes when you start to use it. Your Mark can be eagle eyes or bat's hearing or webbed fingers. It can blind you or deafen you or just turn your hair a strange colour. It can kill you. You can't know in advance. You have to take that chance; you have to want it that much.
