First I started doing it in working hours, a little at first, just a few words here and there, but eventually I wasn't getting anything done and they sacked me. Then I started thinking that I was wasting far too much time asleep and spent my nights working on it, with coffee and then speed when the coffee stopped working. Next cooking time became irksome; soon even the time to make a phonecall to order pizza was an intrusion. It's almost the end of the month now. My catheter hurts, and I don't even stop to bandage my bleeding fingers.
I cheated and finished it again. Took about two minutes. Will behave in future, I promise..

I have to admit I cheat and always finish my sentence if I'm still typing when time runs out. My excuse is that the point of oneword (least for me) is to act as inspiration - it's not like it's a competition.

These people (http://oneword.invisibleland.tv/) set a different word every day.

I don't tend to cheat, but that's just me. I'm not saying you shouldn't finish. I think I just prefer seeing how much I can write in one minute. That makes a difference to me. It's quite interesting to see. Writing papers in a 50 minute class is always what got me to thinking about that, as we talked about how many words you could possibly write in one minute. I think I'm going to go count mine now just out of curiosity!
