I decided to go to the British Museum because they'd moved it to a new building and had an exhibition of esoteric objects never before seen by human eyes. They'd invented a brand-new system of paying your way in.

There were three portals with a heavy black metal symbol and a sign above each one. One had a pentagram and read 'Faith', another a clockface and read 'Freedom', and the final one had a coin and read 'Fortune'. The third door was a traditional money donation. But entering by the first, you paid in strength of belief. To pass through the second you paid a small portion of your lifetime. I was trying to decide when I woke up.

(Meanwhile, in her dreams, [livejournal.com profile] kauket was debating whether old episodes of Dad's Army were admissible as evidence in court.)

I wrote a GCSE History essay based entirely on Dad's Army and got an A. So I'd say yes, they should be.

Way to cheat the system! :)

For most of my childhood, everything I knew about Ancient Rome came from Asterix...

That is heavy symbolism - but what does it mean to you?

Yeah, it's way heavy-handed, isn't it? But I don't yet know what it's all about. Some sort of a choice, obviously, but beyond that it needs some more thinking.

It wasn't much like my usual dreams. And I hadn't been reading lots of sword-and-sorcery or Wicca books before bed either.
