Stupid thing: Headline of the Daily Star about pro-hunting protesters storming the House of Commons: "First it's Batman, now it's Basil Brush!" What's wrong with this picture?

Unfortunate thing: The Killers' song about glamorous indie rock'n'roll and how it's all they live for is in fact a really boring song, with boring guitars and a boring beat and boring vocals. If that's all they can see themselves doing in life, it's a bit tragic.

Traumatic thing: Last Tuesday's Six Feet Under. I was so upset I couldn't sleep for hours after it. It looks like Collateral has the same plot (ish), but Six Feet Under makes the trailer for that look like a happy skip through a field of pretty flowers.

(Other unfortunate thing: library clock about to run out. Okay, I'm off to see if I can still get into my PVC skirt.)

Front page of today’s Daily Mail screams out that the people who broke into the Commons chamber were friends of Princes Charlie/William/Harry. Haven’t actually looked at the paper myself (it tends to impose itself on my peripheral vision in the morning), so I don’t know how it’s spinning this: Whether it’s disgraceful that persons connected with the heirs to the throne are behaving this way, or taking it as evidence that fox-hunting shouldn’t be banned.

Six Feet Under - I set the video recording and went to bed. From what I've heard in various places, should I not bother to watch it?

No no, it wasn't traumatic because it was bad but because it was good. A horrifying exploration of the abuse of power, or something. Or perhaps a very complicated psychological rape. I really was quivering with impotent rage after it.

The fact that the "boom boom" part was left until today? And it was The Sun that did it as opposed to Basil Brush?! ;)

“Boom boom!” was supposed to be in 1605.

I was thinking something more on the lines of "Basil Brush is a fox, right? So he must have joined that little-known protest group, Foxes for Fox-Hunting!"

What next? Fava Beans for the Release of Hannibal Lecter? Witches for the Reinstatement of Stake-Burning?

If you can't manage it I'm more than happy to give it a go (fnarr fnarr etc).
