Individual flakes from the information blizzard:

Stupid thing: Headline of the Daily Star about pro-hunting protesters storming the House of Commons: "First it's Batman, now it's Basil Brush!" What's wrong with this picture?

Unfortunate thing: The Killers' song about glamorous indie rock'n'roll and how it's all they live for is in fact a really boring song, with boring guitars and a boring beat and boring vocals. If that's all they can see themselves doing in life, it's a bit tragic.

Traumatic thing: Last Tuesday's Six Feet Under. I was so upset I couldn't sleep for hours after it. It looks like Collateral has the same plot (ish), but Six Feet Under makes the trailer for that look like a happy skip through a field of pretty flowers.

(Other unfortunate thing: library clock about to run out. Okay, I'm off to see if I can still get into my PVC skirt.)

Front page of today’s Daily Mail screams out that the people who broke into the Commons chamber were friends of Princes Charlie/William/Harry. Haven’t actually looked at the paper myself (it tends to impose itself on my peripheral vision in the morning), so I don’t know how it’s spinning this: Whether it’s disgraceful that persons connected with the heirs to the throne are behaving this way, or taking it as evidence that fox-hunting shouldn’t be banned.
