I spent today running round town, pulling letters out of my bag at random. Because it was indecisively raining, I had to abandon the 'in sight of a postbox' plan, so I put them in indoor or fairly sheltered places:

[livejournal.com profile] tokyo_mb: Your letter was left on a wall on Chrisp Street in East London.
[livejournal.com profile] clarisinda: On a chair in Chrisp Street Idea Store.
[livejournal.com profile] mouse262: In an East End pub called The Widow's Son.
[livejournal.com profile] cartographer: On a glass table in the lobby of 1 Canada Square (the tall, pointy Canary Wharf building).
[livejournal.com profile] casca_2u: On a Northern Line train at Highgate, heading north.
[livejournal.com profile] randalf, [livejournal.com profile] smorgasbord, [livejournal.com profile] boingley, [livejournal.com profile] sparktastic: all left in and around the British Museum by my esteemed research assistant [livejournal.com profile] elethe.
[livejournal.com profile] primavera: given to my new research assistant [livejournal.com profile] hoshuteki to be left somewhere in Brixton.
[livejournal.com profile] thessalian, I tried to leave yours on the tube at St John's Wood, but the whole bloody carriageful of people chased after me going 'you forgot your letter, you forgot your letter', and I had to look grateful at them. :) So points for social responsibility go to them, and I'll find somewhere else to leave yours!

D, I missed this on account of being away, but it's a wonderful idea to recreate the PG experiment. I'm green with envy that I didn't think of it myself and pitch it as a world-beating magazine feature :) x

Actually it was too hard to do them all around the British museum. [livejournal.com profile] sparktastic was on a park bench in Bedford Square (post box opposite side of the park). I left one in an old-fashioned red phone box outside the British Museum (had to move the prostitute cards to put it there). There was a post box right next to that.

Annother was left at Kentish town station and one was sent on a number 43 bus, heading south from Highgate.

I felt so odd putting them places - like a spy (or even worse a terrorist) I got very paranoid. Had to be so furtive.

Try one to me, dropped somewhere in Muswell Hill, with no stamp on it and see if someone will just deliver it?

Forgot to mention that my envelope has been successfully placed at a carefully chosen location in SW9. Well, no, actually I left it in the Brixton Recreation Centre following one of my rare appearances at the gym. Have no idea how far it is to a post box, but it may be significantly closer to a bin. Fingers crossed.

One point for human nature. Your letter arrived today (and very enjoyable it was too!).

Mine arrived last night. I so enjoyed the Crimean Dragoon Guard on the stamp too, very thoughtful :)

Mine arrived - postmarked 27 Oct. And as an added bonus my parents thinking it important sent it on to me with bars of proper tasting dairy
milks.
