That's what I would suggest; have a "feature wall" in a fabulous strong colour, but keep the rest of the walls neutral, although I'd be inclined to go for a warmer buttery cream, rather than a very safe white-ish cream.
I like the sound of that. The Safe Cream is more off-white, almost a bit greenish, and it's horrid - but something nice and buttermilky would be much nicer.
I'm leaning more and more towards the three cream walls/one red wall plan...
