Hello world.
Sep. 3rd, 2004 11:54 pm![[personal profile]](https://www.dreamwidth.org/img/silk/identity/user.png)
I've been internetless at home for most of the summer. We're working on it. For now, I'm posting from
kesstrel's birthday party, as people swirl around me getting drinks and chocolate cake and saying goodbye and hello.
I've had a couple of opportunities to go online since the loss of the home connection. But I thought, since I was becoming a bore of the highest order with my mantra of "my novel is nearly finished", that I'd only post when it was done.
I finished it at 6.30 this evening, with just a couple of days to spare before going back to school next Wednesday. It feels weird. I keep thinking "I shouldn't be out, I have loads of writing to do," then realising that I don't. It's something over 90,000 words long and needs a lot of editing before it goes out into the world, but it's done. The story's finally been told.
So hello again, world. It's time for me to come out of my self-imposed hermit's cave. Much belatedly, I'd like to thank everyone who came to my birthday, and go all teary and emotional over
kasku's new baby, and congratulate
haggisthesecond on her job, and tell
femme_letale that we have her Six Feet Under, and wish
gothwalk and
inannajones a happy anniversary and birthdays, and many more stored-up good wishes that I'm regrettably too full of red wine to think of right now.
And I probably won't have seen any of your major life events since the end of July. If you'd care to refer me to posts I should catch up on, I'd be much obliged.
