Recalled To Life!

Once upon a time when the earth was green, or more precisely at the start of this year, there was a community called pennydreadfuls where Livejournalists of a creative bent gathered to entertain readers with tales weird and pulpy, rich and strange, at the rate of one cliff-hanging chapter (being between 1500 and 2000 words) a week. Sadly, life in its myriad forms got in the way, writers found themselves embroiled in (for example) writing other books, and by May or so all had fallen silent...

Until now. Over the past month or so I've been working on my PD story again, and I know that others have too and have expressed an interest in starting it up again. So without further ado, verlaine and I are pleased to announce THE RETURN OF PENNYDREADFULS!

I'm planning to post a new chapter of Dangerous Waste this week, for starters, preceded by a handy guide to the Story So Far. The rules will be more relaxed this time - I've given all the veteran posters (plus you, lostcarpark) free posting access so you won't get held up at the moderation stage, and you can post at your own pace, rather than having a designated day of the week as we did before. Anyone else who'd like to join in and post a serial story, sign up and let us know.

Or perhaps you'd just like to read? If so, sign up anyway, because several of us will be posting under friends-lock (since it seems publishers have trouble with material that's been generally available online).
